We only accept Dutch-speaking students, except for the Photonics Master's program, where English-speaking students are also welcome to apply.
Application process

Application
Applications will open in May.

Recent CV

Motivation letter (maximum 2 A4 pages)

Your draft or already submitted research paper, or any other individually written work that you consider relevant.

Indicate which position interests you: project leader, member of the core team, or regular participation.

We will request your academic results profile from the faculty secretariat.

Interview
After a pre-selection, interviews with the candidates will take place in May. Interviews will be attended by members of the academic team and the project leaders of the ongoing trade mission. The interview will assess:

Your motivation & entrepreneurial characteristics

Oral skills and presentation skills (max. 10 min): for this, we expect you to give a short PowerPoint presentation (max. 5 slides) in English or Dutch (you can choose the format and subject yourself)

English language proficiency

Interviews will take place on the campus at Pleinlaan 5.

Selection
The selection criteria take into account:
​

Academic credentials (e.g., standard trajectory, results profile)
-
Oral and written reporting skills
-
Communication and social skills (including English language proficiency, dealing with a multicultural context)
-
Entrepreneurship / Practical experience
-
Teamwork

A balanced assessment will be made. Decisions regarding the selection will be announced at the end of May.

Note that for certain studies, only students who can meet the requirements to graduate in '26-'27 may participate (check the admission requirements on the course unit sheet and with your study path counselor).
You must also have obtained your Bachelor's degree by the start of the academic year 2026-27.
